BIOGRAPHY: Matthew Maida comes to the Mississauga Hornets Hockey Association with nothing but pure enthusiasm for the sport of hockey. As the owner and operator of his very own sports entertainment and event management company, it comes as no surprise that Maida was appointed as the Director of Communications. Maida wore the Mississauga Hornets uniform as a forward from 1999-2002 and was instrumantal in the development of Association's U-21 "AAA" Program. Matthew continued his hockey career with Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) playing Division 2 college hockey from 2004-2009 in Fort Myers, Florida. Maida served as FGCU Hockey's President from 2004 - 2008 and was instrumental in starting the Division 2 Team as well as adding the Division 3 Team to the program. During his tenure as President, Maida also successfully hosted two National Championships for the ACHA. As the Director of Communications, Maida is directly responsible for the website design and updates as well as responding to e-mails about the organization. Maida successfully graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Bachelor's of Science in Business Management.
